STRATEGIES FOR GROWTH
Eph 4:12  For the Perfecting (Equipping) of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

CHURCH INFO
Introduction:
I believe that God is purposing to accomplish great things in the church this year.  I believe God is saying to the church, "Get ready to see greater things accomplished in your life for 2009."  In fact, God has dropped in my spirit that the theme for River for 2009 is "Equipping the saints for the work of the ministry."

Our God is a very strategic God.  "Strategies For Growth" is designed to encourage the Body of Christ with these strategies of God.  We believe that God has given us everything that "pertains to life and godliness" in His Word.   We must, as a result, know these strategies and apply them in our lives everyday.  In doing so we will gain the everyday victory and go on to maturity which, when walked out, gives glory to God!

I pray that these 2-4 minute clips encourage your heart and stir you up to accomplish the will of God and become "equipped for the work of the ministry."
NEW SERIES: Beginning August 8, 2009
We are beginning a new series entitled, "Discovering Your Irreducible Core."  There are certain things in the life of the Christian and in the life of the church that can not be compromised.  They makeup the core of who we really are.  Removing any one of these things will adversely affect our ability to be the church that Jesus is building.  However, knowing what things are essential to our faith will help us to grow spiritually strong and increase our ability to maintain our integrity in the face of trial and tough decision making situations.

The Bible teaches us that every purpose God ordains He also equips.  In other words, anything that God is calling for in your life will obtain the power of heaven to bring it to pass.  But how does God bring these things to pass in our lives? How does God prepare me and equip me to accomplish things that seem impossible to me?

Key Characteristics of the Perfected Saint

Number 1: You must realize the you have been equipped with the Holy Ghost
You must come to understand that God will never give you an assignment without giving you the ability to bring it to pass.  In other words, if it is in your hand, if it is in your spirit to do it, then you have to know that God has placed within you the power to bring it to pass.

God has filled you with the Holy Ghost...you have Holy Ghost power.  That means the very power of God resides in you!

Acts 2:1-2 KJV
(1)  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place (unity of purpose).  (2)  And suddenly there came a sound (it was not just any sound, it was a sound) from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

I am believing for God to fill the house with His presence...to fill you with His presence.
I have this confidence because I know that God always equips the people of God for
the purpose He is calling for.

Number 2:  You must Maintain Extreme Faith

Listen church, faith is the key that opens you up to the possibilities, the power and the
promises of God.  You see, It is faith that places into motion that which seemed impossible.  When you are walking in faith you are not living according to that which you can see, but you are living according to that which you understand that God is able to do.

There is nothing that is impossible for God, as a result, we are required to step out of the sight realm and into the faith realm.  The faith realm is the realm of the creative nature of God.  That is why Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."  To God, faith is tangible.  It is the essence of what you are hoping for.  Faith is also the proof that the things "not seen" are in the realm of possibilty for you.   So we are encouraged to live by faith.  2 Corinthians 5:7 says, "We walk by faith, not by sight."

It is faith that moves you into the power of God, and equips you to accomplish His work.

Number 3:  You have been equipped with the Power of His Name
How many of you know that there is power in the name of Jesus?  Let me tell you something about that name, In His name there is healing, deliverance, power, and restoration.

The name of Jesus give you access to the throne room of God.  You can not enter behind the veil without Jesus and all that He has done for us on the cross.  You cannot access kingdom power without Jesus.  So what God does is He gives you a name.  But not Just any name, it is a name above every name.  At the name of Jesus:
  -Demons tremble
  -Angels bow down
  -Heaven rejoices
  -The Father is well pleased
  -And the saints gain access

You have been equipped with a name.  Some people have been trying to make a name for themselves, but all you really need is the name of Jesus.

Equipping Process
The Bible is also clear that in order for the fullness of the Body to be matured and equipped, there must be a release and recognition of the equipping gifts.  I believe that in this season there will be a greater level of boldness released upon the church and we will see the five-fold ministry begin to operate with greater clarity and effectiveness.  Without the five-fold the Body can not be properly equipped.  I believe that God is going to bring balance to the ministry so that there will be a free flow of His Spirit in the Church.
